Toyota HDJ/HZJ80 Panel Filter Airbox

Upgrade your Toyota LandCruiser HDJ/HZJ80 air intake system with the BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox, engineered to provide high airflow and efficient engine performance while helping protect your engine from dust, dirt and water intake.

Designed specifically for the HDJ80 and HZJ80 LandCruiser, this high-flow panel filter airbox combines a large filter element with a tightly sealed aluminium enclosure. It is manufactured in Australia using TIG welded aluminium construction and finished in a durable black textured powder coat.

The airbox features a 4-inch inlet and outlet, CNC-machined double filter lip for improved sealing, an integrated drain port and compatibility with stainless steel snorkel systems. It utilises the N80 Hilux panel filter, allowing for a large filtration area and efficient airflow.

The filter is sold separately.

High-Flow HDJ/HZJ80 LandCruiser Airbox

The BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox is designed to maximise airflow and engine efficiency while maintaining effective filtration.

A high-quality airbox needs to provide a balance between airflow and protection. This system is designed to provide a large, efficient intake pathway while keeping the filter securely sealed inside the airbox.

For LandCruisers used for touring, four-wheel driving, remote-area travel and off-road applications, effective filtration is essential. Dust and fine contaminants can be particularly harmful to an engine, making a properly sealed intake system an important part of a reliable 4WD setup.

Designed for Toyota HDJ80 and HZJ80

This panel filter airbox is designed for Toyota LandCruiser HDJ80 and HZJ80 models.

The airbox provides an aftermarket solution for owners looking to upgrade the factory intake system with a high-flow panel filter arrangement.

It is particularly suited to LandCruisers used for:

4WD touring
Off-road driving
Remote-area travel
Camping and overlanding
Long-distance touring
Dusty environments
Custom intake builds
Snorkel-equipped vehicles

Utilises N80 Hilux Panel Filter

The BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox is designed to utilise an N80 Toyota Hilux panel filter.

This provides a large filtration surface while maintaining an efficient intake path through the airbox.

Important: The panel filter is sold separately and is not included with the airbox unless specifically stated in the product listing.

Using the correct filter is important to ensure proper fitment and sealing within the airbox.

CNC-Machined Double Filter Lip

One of the key features of the airbox is the CNC-machined double filter lip.

The double-lip design provides a precise sealing surface around the panel filter, helping reduce the potential for unfiltered air to bypass the filter.

This precision-machined sealing arrangement is particularly important when the vehicle is used in dusty off-road environments where maintaining effective filtration is critical.

Tight-Sealing Airbox Design

The BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox is designed around a tight-sealing filter enclosure.

A properly sealed airbox helps ensure that incoming air is directed through the filter rather than finding alternative paths around the filtration element.

This provides an important layer of engine protection for LandCruisers operating in dust, dirt, gravel and other harsh conditions.

4-Inch Inlet and Outlet

The airbox features a large 4-inch inlet and outlet, providing a high-flow pathway for the intake system.

The large-diameter connections make the airbox suitable for custom intake configurations and provide compatibility with larger intake piping.

The 4-inch design is particularly useful for LandCruiser builds where airflow capacity is an important consideration.

Designed to Suit Stainless Steel Snorkels

The HDJ/HZJ80 Panel Filter Airbox is designed to suit stainless steel snorkel systems.

Pairing the airbox with a suitable snorkel can create a more complete high-flow intake system, providing an upgraded pathway for outside air while helping protect the engine from dust and water intake.

This makes the airbox a strong option for LandCruiser owners building a custom or performance-focused intake system.

Integrated Drain Port

The airbox includes an integrated drain port to assist with removing accumulated moisture or water.

This is an important practical feature for 4WDs operating in wet conditions, muddy environments or areas where water crossings may be encountered.

The drain provides a controlled exit point for moisture while maintaining the overall functionality of the airbox.

TIG Welded Aluminium Construction

The airbox is manufactured using TIG welded aluminium construction, providing a strong and durable enclosure suitable for demanding 4WD applications.

Aluminium offers a useful combination of strength and relatively low weight, while TIG welding provides clean and robust joints throughout the airbox.

The finished product is designed to withstand the vibration, heat and challenging conditions associated with off-road and touring use.

Black Textured Powder Coat Finish

The airbox is finished in a black textured powder coat for a durable and professional appearance.

The textured finish complements the engine bay while providing a hard-wearing exterior surface suitable for a working 4WD.

Built for 4WD and Touring

The Toyota LandCruiser HDJ/HZJ80 is a proven platform for remote touring and off-road use. The BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox is designed to complement these applications with high airflow and effective filtration.

It is ideal for vehicles used for:

Remote touring
Outback travel
Four-wheel driving
Off-road adventures
Camping
Overlanding
Dirt-road driving
Dusty conditions
Custom LandCruiser builds
Performance intake upgrades

Maximum Airflow Without Compromising Filtration

Increasing airflow is only useful when the intake system can continue to provide effective filtration.

The BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox is designed to balance these requirements by combining a large panel filter with a sealed airbox and precision-machined filter sealing surfaces.

The 4-inch inlet and outlet provide a high-flow intake pathway, while the double filter lip helps ensure incoming air passes through the filtration element.

This makes the system suitable for LandCruiser owners looking for a practical combination of airflow, filtration and engine protection.

Australian Manufactured

The BR Customs Panel Filter Airbox is manufactured in Australia and built to last.

The TIG welded aluminium construction, CNC-machined filter lip and durable powder coat finish are designed to provide a reliable intake component for demanding 4WD applications.

Whether you’re preparing an HDJ/HZJ80 for a long-distance touring trip or upgrading a dedicated off-road build, this airbox provides a robust foundation for your intake system.
