Mercedes Sprinter VS30 2019+ Handbrake Caliper Bash Guard

Protect your Mercedes Sprinter VS30 from one of the lesser-known hazards of dirt roads, gravel tracks and off-road driving with a purpose-built Mercedes Sprinter VS30 2019+ Handbrake Caliper Bash Guard. Designed to help shield the handbrake calipers from rocks, stones and road debris, this heavy-duty guard provides an added layer of protection for Sprinter owners who regularly travel on unsealed roads, remote tracks, worksites and rough Australian terrain.

The handbrake calipers are positioned in an area that can be exposed to debris thrown up from the road surface. On gravel and dirt roads, rocks can be kicked up underneath the vehicle and potentially strike vulnerable components. Damage to the handbrake calipers can lead to unwanted repairs, downtime and inconvenience, particularly when travelling away from major towns or service centres.

Our solution is a tough, durable and vehicle-specific bash guard designed around the Mercedes Sprinter VS30 platform. Manufactured from mild steel, the guards are CNC cut and folded for accurate manufacturing and consistent fitment, then finished in a durable satin black powder coat for a clean appearance and an additional protective finish.

Whether your Sprinter is used as a campervan, touring vehicle, work van, service vehicle or adventure vehicle, adding protection to exposed underbody components can be a practical upgrade for demanding driving conditions.

Designed for Mercedes Sprinter VS30 2019+

This handbrake caliper bash guard is specifically designed for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VS30 models from 2019 onwards.

The vehicle-specific design means the guard is developed around the relevant Sprinter underbody and handbrake caliper area rather than being a generic universal plate. This helps provide targeted protection without the need for an oversized or unnecessarily complicated guard.

The product is suitable for:

Mercedes Sprinter VS30 2019+
Medium Wheelbase (MWB) models
Long Wheelbase (LWB) models
Sprinter touring and adventure builds
Campervan conversions
Work and commercial vans
Vehicles regularly travelling on gravel and dirt roads

Important fitment note: This product is not suitable for dual-wheel models. Please confirm your Sprinter’s configuration before ordering.

Help Protect Your Handbrake Calipers

One of the main reasons to install a bash guard is to provide additional protection around components that can be exposed to impacts from road debris.

When driving on sealed roads, the risk from loose rocks is generally much lower. However, conditions can change significantly once a vehicle moves onto gravel, dirt, corrugated roads or remote tracks. Loose stones can be thrown by the vehicle’s tyres and may travel underneath the vehicle at considerable speed.

For Sprinter owners who spend time on unsealed roads, protecting vulnerable components can form an important part of preparing the vehicle for touring and off-road use.

The Mercedes Sprinter handbrake caliper bash guard is designed to help deflect and shield the caliper area from stones and other debris. It is not designed to make the vehicle immune to damage, but it adds a dedicated layer of protection between the road environment and the protected component.

This can be particularly useful for vehicles travelling through areas where gravel, rocks and loose road material are common.

Built From Mild Steel

Durability is important when a component is installed underneath a vehicle.

Our Sprinter VS30 handbrake caliper bash guards are manufactured from mild steel, providing a strong and practical material for an underbody protection component.

Mild steel is widely used for vehicle protection products because it offers a useful balance between strength, durability, manufacturability and cost. The material allows the guard to be formed into a precise shape while maintaining the rigidity required for its intended protective application.

The finished product is designed for real-world vehicle use rather than simply being a cosmetic accessory.

For Sprinter owners travelling on gravel roads, forestry tracks, remote highways and construction or work sites, a properly manufactured steel guard can provide useful additional protection around the handbrake caliper area.

CNC Cut and Folded for Accurate Manufacturing

The guards are CNC cut and folded, allowing the components to be manufactured accurately and consistently.

CNC manufacturing helps produce clean, repeatable shapes and mounting points while the folding process creates the required bends and contours in the steel.

This manufacturing approach is particularly valuable for vehicle-specific protection products because the guard needs to work within the available space around the vehicle’s existing components.

Rather than relying on a simple flat piece of metal, the formed design provides a purpose-built protective structure around the relevant handbrake caliper area.

The result is a product that combines practical protection with a clean, engineered appearance underneath the vehicle.

Durable Satin Black Powder Coat Finish

After manufacturing, the guard is finished in a durable satin black powder coat.

The satin black finish gives the product a discreet appearance underneath the Sprinter while complementing the factory appearance of many Mercedes-Benz vehicles and aftermarket touring accessories.

Powder coating also provides a protective surface finish that is well suited to vehicle components exposed to dirt, dust and general road conditions.

The finish helps keep the guard looking clean and professional while providing an additional protective coating over the mild steel substrate.

As with any underbody component, the finish may eventually experience marks or wear from stones, mud and harsh conditions. However, the powder-coated surface is designed to provide a durable finish for normal vehicle use.

Ideal for Gravel Roads and Touring

The Mercedes Sprinter has become increasingly popular as a platform for campervan conversions, touring vehicles and long-distance travel.

Many Sprinter owners take their vehicles beyond sealed highways and into environments where standard road conditions can no longer be assumed.

Gravel roads, dirt tracks and remote touring routes can expose the underside of a vehicle to considerably more debris than normal city driving.

If your Sprinter regularly travels on:

Gravel roads
Dirt roads
Outback tracks
Remote touring routes
Corrugated roads
Forestry roads
Rural properties
Construction sites
Mining or industrial access roads
Adventure touring routes

then additional protection for vulnerable underbody components can be a worthwhile consideration.

The Sprinter VS30 handbrake caliper bash guard is designed specifically with these conditions in mind.

A Practical Upgrade for Campervans and 4×4 Sprinters

The VS30 Sprinter is widely used for campervan conversions and adventure builds. These vehicles can spend extended periods travelling far from workshops and parts suppliers.

For a touring vehicle, preventing avoidable damage is often preferable to dealing with a component failure after it occurs.

A handbrake caliper bash guard is a relatively straightforward protective upgrade that can complement other vehicle protection equipment such as underbody guards, suspension upgrades, recovery equipment and all-terrain tyres.

It is especially relevant for owners who have modified their Sprinter for extended touring and intend to travel on roads that may contain loose rocks and debris.

Vehicle-Specific Protection

Choosing a vehicle-specific guard rather than a generic universal product provides several advantages.

The Mercedes Sprinter VS30 has its own underbody layout, component positioning and available mounting space. A dedicated guard can therefore be designed around the actual vehicle platform.

Our handbrake caliper bash guard is developed specifically for the 2019+ Mercedes Sprinter VS30, with compatibility for MWB and LWB models.

This makes it a targeted protection solution for Sprinter owners who want to protect the handbrake caliper area without installing a large universal guard.

Suitable for MWB and LWB Sprinter Models

Whether you operate a Medium Wheelbase or Long Wheelbase Sprinter, this guard is designed to suit the applicable configurations.

Compatible configurations:

MWB – Medium Wheelbase: Suitable for applicable Mercedes Sprinter VS30 MWB models from 2019 onwards.

LWB – Long Wheelbase: Suitable for applicable Mercedes Sprinter VS30 LWB models from 2019 onwards.

Dual-wheel models: Excluded from fitment.

Because Mercedes Sprinter specifications can vary by market and configuration, always check your vehicle configuration before placing an order.

Why Install a Handbrake Caliper Bash Guard?

Underbody protection is often overlooked until damage occurs.

A vehicle can have excellent body protection, suspension upgrades and touring equipment while still leaving individual components exposed underneath.

The handbrake caliper is one such component that can benefit from dedicated protection when the vehicle is frequently driven in harsh environments.

Installing a protective guard can help:

Reduce direct exposure to loose rocks
Deflect road debris away from the caliper area
Add protection for gravel-road driving
Support touring vehicle preparation
Reduce the risk of avoidable impact damage
Complement broader underbody protection
Provide peace of mind when travelling remotely

The guard should be considered an additional protective measure rather than a guarantee against all possible impacts or mechanical damage.

Built for Real-World Sprinter Use

This is not simply an appearance accessory. The Mercedes Sprinter VS30 Handbrake Caliper Bash Guard has been designed around a practical problem experienced by vehicles travelling on dirt and gravel roads.

The combination of mild-steel construction, CNC manufacturing and powder-coated finishing creates a purpose-built component intended for the demanding environment underneath a commercial van or touring vehicle.

For owners who use their Sprinter as a daily work vehicle, campervan, long-distance tourer or adventure vehicle, protecting vulnerable components can help make the vehicle better prepared for challenging road conditions.
